What is the Solacoat Cool Roof System?
The Solacoat Cool Roof System consists of a primer followed by two coats of topcoat.
We have a metal primer (Solacoat WB Primer) and one for concrete tiles and non-glazed terracotta tiles (Solacoat CP Porous Primer). The revolutionary water-based acrylic top coats contains a unique membrane additive that assists in reflecting up to 84.9% of the suns solar rays depending on the colour and roof type i.e. corrugated, flat or pitched.
The durable Solacoat WB Metal Primer contains proven rust inhibiting agents. The complete Solacoat Metal Roof System not only allows the home to remain cool in the extremes of summer its applied at a fraction of the cost to re-roofing and still aesthetically pleasing.
The Solacoat CP Porous Primer is designed to fill relatively small imperfections in the aged but mechanically sound tile, timber and fibro board surfaces. It addresses the durability and aesthetics aspects.
Once installed this system forms a protective coverage that shields, maintains and enhances the roof for many years to come while keeping the internal temperatures cool in summer.
If your roof has seen better days, if you are tired of spending too much on cooling costs, or if you’re over sweltering on those hot summer days. Then turn your old tired hot roof into an attractive money saving asset with Solacoat Cool Roof!
A 1°C drop in temperature can provide a 10% power saving, and as such a considerable overall power savings for property.

How does the Solacoat Cool Roof System Work?
There are two primary components of sunlight, visible and infrared. Visible light is what we see as colour and makes up roughly 46% of the colour spectrum yet more than half of the spectrum consists of invisible infrared light.
Infrared light, because it’s invisible, doesn’t affect colour but it does have a great effect on the rate and extent of heat build up in homes. Absorb infrared is transferred into heat which warms the surface and surrounding areas.
Pastel colours are good reflectors of the infrared light however conventional dark colours absorb it causing an even higher heat build up.
The Solacoat Cool Roof System works by reflecting infrared light away from the surface of roofs, walls and pavements resulting in energy costs savings and cooler surfaces.
